Users get points for all sorts of things on the site. EG (just ideas): Voting on anything = 1 point, adding a request=2 points, being asigned to a request = 3 points, being the "owner" of a completed request = 3 points. Also maybe a karma system linked to it where people can (anonomously) vote + or - on a specific user (like requests) to add or remove a point.
