Use Grocist right in the store, yay!
Greg, there are hundreds of used book dealers who use PDA's and smart phone running mobil 6.1 s/w that have scanners to find books and gig's of memory to store all of amazons book data base. I am sure there is a market from a downloadable grocery database that could scan you itemes as you put them in your grocery cart and come up with a price and maybe even handle coupons and tax. You could charge for database updates.
Maybe you could partner with neatoscan.com. to share some of the programming burden. Neatoscan converts amazon's data base for off line use with smart phones and PDA's.
Just a thought

There is also a software call DVD pedia for Mac and Iphone and it would be cool to be able to make the iphone scan barcodes like the mac does for the software. This software is great for DVD cataloging. Might be a help to look at their interface.
