Would it be possible to give authors the option that if they update their addon the last changes are directly posted under the topic in the board? ESAM could create a post in the database for this, maybe assigned to a user like "EvieBot" :D

I personally don't care much for this idea - people who update often would have a lot of different threads for the same script. I think the RSS feed for updates handles this nicer.
Edit: Although I may be able to allow editing of the original announcement post. This has been something I've been thinking about for some time.

What about a bbcode in the original post that inserts all the addon description and stuff?

Yeah, I might be able to add an " announce this update" link to the update info section. - I'll look into that. (it wouldn't be automatic though, you'd have to click the link as you do for the addon announcement itself.
